3TFM Community Radio would like to congratulate our very own Sharon De Silva on the news that she has been chosen as an Olympic Torch Carrier this  Summer.

The former Ardrossan Academy pupil was nominated by her Personnel Manager in Tesco where she works as a Service Team Leader when she is not spinning discs for 3TFM Community Radio.

Sharon is presently training to be a Manager,and helped raise more than £4,000 for Alzheimer Scotland, which is Tesco’s charity of the year,and she goes above and beyond her role by

participating in sponsored walks,charity football tournaments and ladies nights. Sharon states “she is ecstatic ,but it hasn’t sunk in yet”.

The 3TFM presenter will carry the torch on Sunday 8 July in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire in the east of England where Tesco Head Office is based.
